In addition to the basic education requirement, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-13), which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. To qualify for the GS-14:
Specialized experience includes performing duties such as solving problems peculiar to the aerospace research and development environment, as well as aerospace program objectives and of risk management concepts fundamental to accomplishing these objectives; handling of explosive, industrial, development, traffic and office operations, including shipment and transportation of spacecraft pyrotechnics and hazardous propellants; applying applicable local, federal, NASA, and contractor safety laws, rules, regulations, plans, and procedures; the use of Occupational Safety and Health Act Standards, reference material, etc., and accident prevention and other applicable safety standards; safety management, which includes safety engineering and standards, standard operating procedures, safety training and education, accident investigation reporting and analyses, occupational health and sanitation, and accident prevention and control procedures; planning, organizing, and coordinating several organizations and activities to accomplish a stated objective; independently planning, designing, and carrying out programs, projects, studies, or other work; serving as a technical authority in the development and interpretation of guidelines.Your resume must include a clear and detailed narrative description, in your own words, of how you meet the required specialized experience.
