Information Receptionist (OA)

This position serves as an Information Receptionist for the United States Attorneys Office for the District of New Mexico. Duties include:
- Receives telephone calls, notifying staff members of incoming telephone calls and takes messages. - Receives visitors to the office and in this capacity, controls access to the office and ensures that they are properly cleared for entry. - Maintains an up-to-date telephone and address listing of departments and agencies. - Produces a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced word processing software functions, working from handwritten draft, edited copy, or electronic files created by other staff members. - Receives, reviews, and distributes incoming mail, including service of process. - Maintains miscellaneous numerical/alpha files. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. GS-4:
To be eligible at the GS-4 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
General Experience, Education, a Combination of Education and Experience. General
Experience:
One full year of progressively responsible clerical and/or administrative duties equivalent to the GS-03 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience involves progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of general experience include:
receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors to an office; responding to inquiries and providing general information; producing a variety of written documents utilizing office automation software; and distributing mail. Education:
Successful completion of two full academic years of education above high school level. Combining Education and
Experience:
Combinations of education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirement. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
