Overview:
This is a NASA Test, Evaluation and Support contract position; it may be assigned to Jacobs Technology Inc. or a teammate company.

Responsibilities:
This is a position within the Hazardous Test Engineering Branch of the WSTF Materials & Components Laboratories Office. The candidate will provide engineering support to the Composite Pressure Vessel Group in the following areas: impact, cycle/burst, compatibility, and sustained load stress rupture testing of composite pressure vessels; design of hydraulic and pneumatic test systems; application and interpretation of various non-destructive evaluation and test methods. Previous experience with project management/integration, MS Project, requirements development, DDT&E, L6S, pressure systems, instrumentation, test planning, & 3D modeling is desirable. Must have excellent communication skills, customer & safety focus, and work well in a team environment.

Qualifications:
BS degree or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program and 3 to 5 years related engineering experience, or MS degree from an ABET accredited engineering program and 2 to 3 years of related engineering experience. Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.
Physical Requirements:
Position involves extended periods of sitting or standing. Physical requirements are: sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures. Typically required to lift and hold up to 30 pounds. Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency. May be required to wear breathing protection (respirator), hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
Work Environment:
Desk/office work and test area work. Test area work involves standing and directing technical personnel. Also involves working with and around oxygen system components and components that have been exposed to hypergolic propellants. Position requires individual to travel to different areas on site. Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility. All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
Equipment and Machines:
Computer work required. Exempt employees will not operate equipment and machines involved in the performance of testing; union personnel perform these tasks. However, exempt salaried personnel in this job will work around pressurized fluid systems (nitrogen, helium, air, water) and systems used for processing oxygen and hypergolic propellant components. Use of calculator, printer, fax, scanner, telephone, filing cabinets, and other standard office equipment is required.
Attendance:
Regular attendance and punctuality is required. Overtime may be required in support of test project schedules or other priority assignments as determined by management or customer needs. Normal working hours are nine (9) hour per day with some flexibility based on pre-approval. A condensed work schedule, allowing alternate Fridays off, is typically in use for each two week pay cycle (9-80 schedule). Personnel in the branch are cross-trained to allow for normal planned vacation and sick leave.

Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Project is necessary Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Dress must be appropriate for the position and not pose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others in accordance with NASA and Company policies. Must be able to pass a physical examination (including drug testing) as determined by the NASA White Sands Test Facility and the Company for the job classification. If applicable to the specific job assignment, must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be a U.S Citizen. Must pass a Federal background investigation. Must maintain site access to NASA facilities and computer systems. Occasional travel may be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
