Overview:
This is a NASA Test and Evaluation contract position; it may be assigned to Jacobs Technology Inc. or a teammate company.

Responsibilities:
This position is in support of the oxygen system design and analysis group which will require the preparation and presentation of formal documents associated with the hazards in high pressure oxygen systems and low pressure oxygen enriched environments following ASTM and NASA 6001 protocol. This position requires the ability to conduct test data analysis and application to system design and/or component design. Occasional travel maybe required to participate in advance system design presentations or community technical exchange meeting in the United States and overseas. Candidate may be assigned various tasks such as mechanical engineering tasks in support of oxygen system design hazard analysis, oxygen system build-up, component analysis and testing, experimental design and analyis, pressure vessel system engineer, and testing of oxygen hardware and materials.

Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program and one (1) to two (2) years related engineering experience, or MS degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program. Candidates with a MS in Engineering preferred. Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.

Physical requirements are: sitting for an extensive periods of time.
Work Environment:
Will be required to work inside and maybe requested to travel an required by management.
Equipment and Machines:
Computer work required. Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and MS Project is necessary. Use of calculator, printer, fax, scanner, telephone, and other standard office equipment is required.
Attendance:
Work schedule depends on hours required to complete scheduled tasks which may include temporary shift work to accommodate testing requirements and some occasional travel.

Dress must be appropriate for the position and not pose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others in accordance with NASA and Company policies. Must be a U.S Citizen. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must pass a Federal background investigation. Must be able to pass a physical examination as determined by the NASA White Sands Test Facility and the Company for the job classification. Must submit to pre-employment drug testing. Must maintain site access to NASA facilities and computer systems.
