RN Infection Control- FT

Job DescriptionThe Infection Preventionist is responsible for the monitoring of health care associated infections and instituting effective control measures where appropriate; developing prevention and educational strategies for all hospital personnel; monitoring staff and environment for compliance with infection control policies and procedures; monitoring the compliance of personnel regarding local, state, federal rules, and regulations for the prevention of infections in hospitals.
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the monitoring of health care associated infections and instituting effective control measures where appropriate; developing prevention and educational strategies for all hospital personnel; monitoring staff and environment for compliance with infection control policies and procedures; monitoring the compliance of personnel regarding local, state, federal rules, and regulations for the prevention of infections in hospitals.
Responsible for support in the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the hospital wide infection control program.
Collaborates with and acts as a consultant for the department managers and staff.
Advises, implements and evaluates measures necessary to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital and community.
The Infection Preventionist participates in development of policies & procedures governing control of infections and communicable diseases, emergency management disaster events, and coordinates with the Employee Health Nurse regarding infection control issues.
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing o Educated in principles and practices of infection control in accordance with CDC, OSHA, State, Federal, & Joint Commission standards Completion of APIC training preferred or knowledge of epidemiological principles and infectious diseases Statistical skills necessary to compute rates, design reports, tables and graphs Computer and people skills necessary Required:
Three (3) - Five (5) years experience supporting Infection Control efforts in an acute care facility o Preferred:
Graduate Degree BSN or MSN Preferred:
Has knowledge and experience in areas of patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, program administration and epidemiology Required:
Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license Required:
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after one (1) full month of work.
o Preferred:
Certification in Infection Control or eligible for certification Recommended Skills Administration Basic Life Support Critical Care Infection Control Interpersonal Skills Microbiology Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
